Great News for PLVE applicants in England.
We have been aware that NHS England, local PCSE's along with GDC have been working tirelessly to make the process of achieving a performer number is easier simple and quicker for all dentists who wish to practice NHS Dentistry.
So from the below Notice, it appears that the usual time scale for a PLVE application to be processed will be cut short form 4- 6 months to a mear 6- 8 weeks which is the duration taken by EEA qualified dentist.
It's a significant step and certainly very beneficial for applicants and employers who wish to do PLVE.
Going forward the procedure should be more streamlined, quicker and cater to the individual needs of the dentist and their skill set.
Performers List Validation by Experience (PLVE) programme has now been discontinued and that the process for Non-EU/Non-UK-qualified dentists to apply to join the National Performers List has changed.
The process will follow the Terms of Agreement process that is currently being used for EU graduates, with Health Education England (HEE) oversight.
